Dik Dik Hotel and Restaurant, built and managed by a Swiss family opened its doors in 1990. The hotel is situated at 1100 meters (3600 feet) above sea level at the foot of Mount Meru, half way between Arusha and Kilimanjaro International Airport. The hotel takes its name from one of the smallest gazelles in Africa, which live on the nearby mountain slopes.
Dik Dik Hotel has nine cozy bungalows with two double rooms each equipped with modern comforts and conveniences such as a mini bar, fireplace and personal veranda with hammock.
